Vista Tips Everyone Should Know

So I just started using Windows Vista about 2 weeks ago, and I must say, its got a few differences from XP but not much.  I do like it better than XP and I haven’t had any problems at all (or none I can think of).  For the average windows user, Vista may seem much different and a little overwhelming, but all of your old features are there, and some new.  If you’re thinking about upgrading I would recommend it, but only if you have a new computer.  If you don’t you won’t get all of the goodies like aero which is the new interface which looks like glass.  If you use a mac and you are thinking about switching over, shame on you.

Anyways, my friend posted some Vista tips over on his blog which really helped me out.  You can view them by clicking here: Vista Tips.

Well, there is my 2 cents on Vista, more to come as I continue to use Vista more.

Palm blogging tool mo:Blog

Right now I’m blogging from my palm treo 680. I always get my good blogging ideas when I’m away from my computer, I always have my phone on me. So now I can blog whenever the heck I want.

mo:Blog is the tool I’m using on my phone. I know there are others, but this is the first I’ve tried. It doesn’t have all of the features of a desktop blogging tool, such as Ecto (my app of choice for the mac), but it is sufficient for my needs when I’m away from my Mac.

Anyhow, I’ll give a full review when I’m on a full size keyboard, my hands are starting to cramp, hehe

Guitar Hero II Review - Part 1

Guitar Hero II

Alright, so I am a designer and code monkey at heart, but I flippin love gaming. I find most coders, or designers, or… well… pretty much anyone that loves fun, loves gaming. Guitar Hero is one of those games that I just picked up (the guitar at least) and couldn’t stop playing. Even if you aren’t musically talented, I would highly recommend this game. Be careful if you have an addictive behavior though, because you may not make it to work or school on time. You may even loose sleep, so just a forewarning. Now to my review (or more, my opinion).

Gh2Bundle-Contents

Just to let you know, I played this game on the Playstation 2. I’m not sure what other platforms this game is available on, but I do know it is available or going to be available on the xbox 360. If I owned a 360 I would have gotten the game on there strictly for the graphics. The Playstation 2 doesn’t have the most amazing graphics, but the game isn’t one of those that needs spectacular graphics. In other words, the graphics are not the selling point, but since I’m a PC gamer at heart, graphics are sort of a deal to me. Anyways, I purchased the Guitar Hero II package which comes with the game and the guitar and some stickers you can put on the guitar. I bought it at Target for $79.99 and I called around and the package deal was the same price at EB Games and Toys’R'us too. Its pretty pricey for a Playstation 2 game, but that is because you get the guitar. If you just buy the game by itself it is $40 and the guitar is $40 so it comes out to the same price unless you buy it on eBay or an equivalent. You can also buy a wireless guitar but then your whole price comes out to around $100 and I just didn’t want to fork over the cash, especially since I heard the wireless guitar isn’t that great.
